![]() ![]() The service from the front desk to the wait staff and floor managers have always been welcoming and willing to correct missteps but we seldom ever had to deal with these kinds of issues in past years. Our group’s celebratory mood was quickly dosed when our steaks arrived barely at room temperature and 2 out of 4 had to be sent back because they were under cooked and tough. This has happened before on recent visits and it also seems that the high quality of their steaks has been declining. In an area where there are many fine options of steakhouses Chops seems to be losing their competitive edge. When I ask for medium rare, I expect medium rare.Chops Lobster Bar has always been our “go to” restaurant whenever we have been in the mood for a great steak dinner for over twelve years. Overall, everything was solid, but the best part was the steak. It's huuuuuuge! The mac and cheese was very good too!Īt the end, they came out with some dessert and a candle for my brithday. Now, if you think you need 2 or 3 baked potatos for 3 people, you're wrong. It's not the type of crab cake that you can pick up and eat because it's held together by bread. That was a little overkill, but guess that's what you call great service! I have to say, the trio was an okay dish, but the memorable part was the crab cake. The meat was the best though!!! Perfectly cooked! Because we decided to share everything, they gave each of us our own butter and sauce for the trio. Sides: Mac & Cheese, Creamed Spinach, Baked Potato, Creamless corn mash, and Brussels SproutsĮverything was very delicious. Seafood trio: lobster tail, salmon, and crab cake. They give a variety of bread so it's hard to just eat one piece. ![]() They started us off with a basket of bread. The three of us decided to order family style. I know, I have great friends :) They have two different dining rooms so you can request one over the other. ![]() My friends took me to Chops for my birthday. Give me any sort of red meat, medium rare, and you'll make me a happy girl. I try to eat different places, I really do, but it's hard to top Chops. You never want for more water or anything extra as the server is constantly at your table and the busser refilling your water. The lobster tail meat is extremely buttery and tender, it melts in your mouth and paired with their homemade honey mustard, its almost impossible not to sigh contentedly in an overly dramatic fashion. The lobster bisque was divinely exquisite, I felt like I was coasting in a smooth and creamy sea in a cruise ship with lobsters happily tanning around me. My husband's is the strip which is dry aged. He went over the specials and we ordered our favorites: the lobster bisque and the lightly fried lobster tail. Don't ask why I remember his name and not our server's. With that out of the way, our server came and introduced himself and his trainee, in addition to Earl, the busser. ![]() She finally sat us in one of the many open booths. We politely declined and she sighed "Well, where do you want to sit, ma'am?" Keep in mind, we were the only patrons in the sitting area at this point. We asked for better seating and she moved us to a table that was right next to the server's station and stairs so even more foot traffic. This would've been ok if they were packed, they were not, it was the beginning of dinner and no one was there yet. We had a reservation and were promptly seated at the table right behind the hostess with a lot of foot traffic. Valet parking is cheap at a paltry $2 excluding tip. It's so good that I did not allow the hostess without the most(ess) detract from the score. Sucks to spend that kind of money and end up with that kind of service!Ĭhops is one of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta. He offered to remove $30 off the bill.which means we still payed AT LEAST $260 without tax for a meal that had the tiniest appetizer and no dessert! Unacceptable!! We didnt even have the energy to object. My husband speaks to a manager who says they ran out of the three desserts that were on the menu and only had ice cream left. We get to dessert and they bring out TWO bowls of ice cream per person! Surely this was not the dessert considering we were paying $149 per person. His lobster pasta was extremely lackluster. We get our entrée and my mashed potatoes looked like soup and his mac n cheese was flavorless. We go thru with the supposedly full course menu and they bring out ONE tiny wagyu bit per person for the appetizer. ok, its almost 10pm on Valentines Day so we decided to stay. We arrived and upon being seated, our server promptly said they didnt have anymore ribeye steaks left. We were told in advance, when we made the reservation that there was a limited menu on this day for $149 per person. My husband and I went here for Valentines Day. I normally love Chops but had a bad experience recently. ![]()
